Our Message as Democrats
"We can do better and we will. We're the optimists. For us, this is a country of the future. We're the can do people. And let's not forget what we did in the 1990s. We balanced the budget. We paid down the debt. We created 23 million new jobs. We lifted millions out of poverty and we lifted the standard of living for the middle class. We just need to believe in ourselves -- and we can do it again." - John Kerry
2009 Elections
Though the Democratic candidates did not fare well in this year's election, we are especially saddened that Rappahannock County resident John Lesinski lost his bid to be our Delegate to the Virginia General Assembly.
John is a retired Marine Corps Colonel, a successful local businessman, active in community organizations, happily married and the father of two children. We could not have hoped for a better candidate to represent us. He ran tirelessly and showed great innovation in his approach. Our hats are off to him. We hope that he will run again for public office, and that voters will grow to appreciate his common sense approach to the problems of our district.
