CALL TO CAUCUS TO NOMINATE A DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE

Virginia State Senate District 28

The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee announces the Call to Caucus to select a Democratic Senator Candidate for the Virginia General Assembly’s 28th Senate District, for the General Election on November 7, 2023.

All Democrats who are registered to vote in the 28th Senate District may vote in the caucus.

The 28th Senate District includes all of Rappahannock County. It also includes all of Culpeper, Madison, Greene, Orange, and western Spotsylvania counties.

To find out if you vote in the 28th Senate District, you may look up your registration at https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation/Lookup/status (once you have entered your information, scroll down to the section labeled “Districts” and see what your “State Senate District” is).

CAUCUS LOCATION, DATE, AND TIME

Location: Culpeper County Democratic Committee Office 205 S. East St., Suite A Culpeper, Virginia 22701

Date: The Caucus will be held on Saturday, June 3

Hours: The Caucus will take place between 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

This is an unassembled caucus. That is, you may come and cast your vote any time during the caucus hours, and you do not have to be present for the entire caucus. You may come, cast your vote, and leave as you wish.

Save the Date for the Next Meeting

SAVE THE DATE for the next General meeting of the Rapp Dems on March 12, 2022 at 10 am. We will meet in person at the Library, 4 Library Road, Washington VA. Doors open at 9:30 am for coffee and conversation. The meeting lasts one hour. There will be a Zoom option for those who want it, and a link will sent with a reminder on Friday. NOTE: We need to approve the revised official RCDC By-laws. You received a preliminary draft last month to review. I’m attaching it again here. A vote will be called to approve the by-laws, including the amendment to Article VIII: Duties of Officers. It’s required that we have a quorum of RCDC members to vote on approval of the by-laws. So please do attend!I

RCDC Virtual Caucus 1-8-2022

According to Democratic Party of Virginia Party Plan, city and county Democratic committees are required to renew their membership and elect officers and at-large Executive Committee members at a biennial reorganization. 

The RCDC Reorganization is scheduled for Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 10 A.M. We’ll meet via Zoom.  

Candidates for the 2022-2024 RCDC Board are:

Chair: Mary-Sherman Willis

Co-Chair: Ross O’Donoghue

Secretary: Ken Edwards

Treasurer: Bruce Sloane

At-Large Executive Committee members: Ron Goodman, Casey Eitner

You must be a member of the committee to vote for the RCDC Executive Board. Please take a minute to renew your membership using one of our TWO convenient methods: 

1) online in the membership Google form, or 

2) by printing out the membership form PDF and mailing it to Ken Edwards, PO Box 718 / Flint Hill, VA 22627. 

We must receive your application by noon on Friday, January 7, 2022, so that we may send you instructions for joining the meeting.
